American Town Tour by Atticus Sumner
Atticus Sumner has been on an entertainment journey since he was a teenager. Over 30 years ago, he created the Cottonwood Cloggers which is a dance company that operates in Michigan. He created and leads the “million taps for a million kids” campaign, which inspires youth to use dance as a form of exercise in fighting the childhood obesity plaguing our country. His group has performed at the Fox Theater in Detroit, opened for the Grand Ole Opry with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys, Hank Williams Jr., Ricky Skaggs, Holly Dunn, and the Bellamy Brothers. Atticus has also worked with Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino’s Pizza, Olympic Medalist Judy Brown, Willard Scott, Minnie Pearl and award winning hip hop artist “G-Reality”. Atticus has performed throughout the United States for millions as a dancer and is now booking venues for his upcoming American Town Tour.
What people are saying...
“I was amazed at how much the kids learned and the level of fun that they were having. I was almost speechless at the kid’s accomplishment.“
“...it made me feel happy to get out and dance with my friends...to have fun and exercise...it really was a workout...I enjoy it. It makes me happy inside and out...when I am dancing with my friends!“
“I think the program with Atticus was one of the best programs I have ever seen since being at Cascades School...It was excellent...it was motivating...the children got into it and the teachers enjoyed it! ...I heard a lot of the other teachers say they would like to get into clogging...and I think I am one of them!“
“On behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee, I am pleased to offer this letter of support for Atticus Sumner. Atticus has worked with the youth of the Boys & Girls Club introducing and teaching them the art of clogging. In addition to learning a new skill, it is a great way for kids to get physically active. Partnering with the Cottonwood Cloggers allows us to increase our capacity and affect the successful development of our community's most vulnerable children.“
